  • The use of finasteride at a dose of 1 mg has been the subject of close scrutiny by European and French pharmacovigilance due to potential side effects of therapy.
  • In particular, in October 2019, a joint meeting was held in France to discuss the safety of finasteride.
  • Finasteride is used to treat androgenetic alopecia in men aged 18 to 41 years. Experts point out that doctors should be told about possible side effects and given time to think before starting long-term therapy.
